Vianna Davila is a deputy editor with the ProPublica-Texas Tribune investigative unit after five years as a reporter on the team. Prior to joining the team, she was a reporter with, and later editor of, The Seattle Times’ Project Homeless initiative, which examines the causes and effects of homelessness in the Seattle region. Before that, Vianna spent a total of 13 years as a reporter for the San Antonio Express-News, covering a range of beats including regional transportation and criminal justice. She earned a B.A. in English from Rice University in Houston and a master’s of journalism, with a specialty in documentary film, from the University of California, Berkeley. Vianna was born and raised in San Antonio. She is now based in Austin.
